Alpha PS1s Stun in Entry Level Review

June 17, 2013

The PSB Alpha PS1 Powered Speakers are making their rounds with today's leading hi-fi and audio experts, like Audiosteam's Michael Lavorgna who added these "delightful desktop speakers" to his 'Greatest Bits' product list which features the best computer audio products. Now, from one sound expert to another, the Alpha PS1's "exceptionally clean, clear, and crisp overall sound" finds its way to editor Stephen Mejias of Stereophile for their debut review in his monthly edition of the 'Entry Level'.

Connected and playing music from a desktop computer, the Alpha PS1s stunned with their wide soundstage, pinpoint imaging, and natural tone colour, said Stephen until adding the optional PTB-1 Base with a quick turn of four screws. Suddenly, he noticed improved clarity, impact, and presence, plus more solid and powerful low frequencies, which he believes is "well worth the cost".
