The PSB Speakers Performance Enclosure is a preconstruction accessory designed to greatly enhance the performance of any standard PSB CustomSound in-wall loudspeaker system.
Typical wall construction provides a poor sound enclosure resulting in a weakened bass response and compromised power handling. Additionally, noise isolation from room-to-room is an important factor in today's homes.
The Performance Enclosure addresses these issues and signifi cantly improves in-wall loudspeaker performance. A wooden enclosure with rigid construction and considerable bracing, the Performance Enclosure's interior volume is adequate for all of our current in-walls.
Its high stiffness provides an ideal enclosure and improves response by 2 to 3 dB across all bass frequencies. Especially in the case of the CWS8, using the Performance Enclosure will maximize your system’s performance and preserve your investment.
Noise isolation from room-to-room is enhanced by 8 to 12dB over the critical range from 40 to 600Hz. This is the range where breakthrough is most troublesome and this reduction is equivalent to turning the system down to 1/10 its input power!
The Performance Enclosure may be used with or without PSB preconstruction brackets on all current standard PSB in-wall models.
