User Review: M4U 2 Headphones - The good and the bad

August 15, 2012

Products: M4U 2 Headphones

So I got my new PSB headphones today. While I couldn't help but study the packaging, which is really well done, I almost broke my new toy tryng to install the batteries. The battery door "snaps" work a little too well, while trying to remove the door, I had to use a bit of force. Surprisingly it was equally hard to put the door back on. The instructions are worse than any Ikea "how to" showing vague pictures and a couple arrows. The arrows look like one needs to twist off the earcup which would be bad. It just seems to me that battery changes of any frequency will cause this piece to fall, I'm familiar with plastics, please read below The cable input on the left side only plays the left side, the controls on the cable are basically useless. While it will pause and return to play, the other commands don't work at least with my phone. It's not all bad... They sound good. Didn't realise how hard it would be to find a nice sounding piece of music. I also really like the noise cancelling option, I tried it in a few different applications and was very impressed. The design is very good if not a little heavy, they are beautiful I have always liked PSB as a company and they're products. The first beling a pair of Stratus Gold. back in the 90's. I was kinda surpised there were any issues with this product For the record, I do have some background in manufacturing... over 25 years in plastics, third generation plastic injection mold maker, mold designer, foreign/domestic project manager, product developer. etc. And I could have bought a new BMW with the money I spent on audio equipment (not a brag, just a weak attempt at credibility)
