User Review: M4U 2 Headphones - Pretty Good for the money

Products: M4U 2 Headphones

I bought these after intensely listening to bose and beats with varied music. Beats is just not a contender in that class. Period. I quickly dismissed them at that price point. The bose come extremely close to the PSBs. The difference is only subtle; there's a muddy texture in the lower frequencies in the bose but honestly, it isn't very noticeable except with a side by side comparison. PSBs are excellent in the lower frequencies. The foot drum has a distinct edge and there is clarity in the bass. The highs are crisp and mid frequencies are impressive as well. The sound stage setup allows you to notice sounds that were not pronounced before. It's really very impressive for that price point. The construction is top notch. There's an impression that this is a quality product. Fit is comfortable for extended periods. ACS is adequate without being dangerous meaning that some ambient noise does seep in but to me that is perfectly ok; I actually want to hear some ambient noise so that I can be aware of my surroundings. Bose creates a better seal and has much better noise cancelling capabilities but it boarders on being a bit dangerous; you'll likely get hit by that car with the bose whereas you just might hear the car coming with the PSBs. The price is painful, there's no easy way to say this. The microphone is crisp and clear and callers have no problems hearing me even with background noise. On the downside, there does seem to be some crackling when the ACS is on. I can't quite figure out what is causing it, but it's only occasional. The powered amplifier is a bonus as well. It doesn't distort the music at all but provides a clean increase in sound levels. I also like the fact that it has a passive mode. All in all, this is a value add if you can afford it because it faithfully recreates the music the way the artist intended their music to be heard. As an aside, the wire controls work on droid except for the volume control.
