User Review: M4U 2 Headphones - Sound Great / Fit Terrible

June 6, 2013

Products: M4U 2 Headphones

Upgrading from the Bose QuietComfort 15's. Have had the PSB's 3 days at this point. The Bose have slightly better NC, but the overall sound quality doesn't compare. They sound hollow to me now. PSB is worth the extra $100 for the sound, and the NC downgrade is very slight, I only could tell doing side by side comparisons. Comfort and Fit however, the PSB design engineers need to do some work. The ear wells are too shallow with insufficient padding. After about 2 hours of use, my ear lobes are very aware that I'm wearing headphones and find myself making adjustments every 15 minutes looking for a non-crushed position. The overall weight doesn't bother me - just the lack of ear well room. The Bose are designed in such a way that my ear is literally untouched insided the bell of headphone -- PSB get's schooled in this department. I have to agree with another reviewer that the battery replacement hatch is an accident waiting to happen. Reminds me of a child's toy just waiting to break - but as long as you are focused and careful it should hold up okay. Bottom line: I'm keeping them for the sound, but I'm not happy with the fit - they are minimally acceptable. Sound Engineering Excellent! Design Engineering Moderate (bordering on poor).
