User Review: M4U 1 Headphones - Unbelievable sound for the price, disappointing frame durability

December 17, 2013

Products: M4U 1 Headphones

The sound is just amazing, the base is nice and punchy, not quite as strong as with Audiotechnica's ATH-M50, but those are bass monsters, lot better than in AKG KX01 series which can be airy. Mids and highs, can't really ask for much more, absolutely spot on. These can be too revealing though, so make sure your source is up to spec, and the audio media is of excellent quality. Comfort is debatable, for my head shape it's very nice, but I've heard big headed people having serious comfort issues with these. Durability: This is my only issue with the product, and it's a huge issue. I've had these for about 4 months, and the plastic frame has multiple serious cracks and fractures already. I haven't dropped them, or thrown them around, just active, about four hours a day on average, use. This is a BIG issue for a headphone that costs this much. I hope they make an updated version with a more durable material than the current plastic.
