Two Canadian Music Legends Celebrate 50 Years

Since 1972, the NLFB (Northern Lights Festival Boréal) has been providing valuable exposure and career development opportunities for emerging artists while also keeping the Northern Ontario region on the map for acclaimed touring acts. What began as a free, one-day music festival on a single stage is now Canada’s longest continually running outdoor music festival, marking its 50th anniversary in 2022 and taking place beside the scenic Ramsey Lake in Sudbury.

The festival hosts Francophone, Indigenous, and other multicultural content each year, in line with regional population demographics and the diverse cultural makeup of the Canadian population. The majority of NLFB’s operations surround the annual summer festival, however the organization also presents many other cultural events throughout the year.

The mandate of NLFB is to present music, performing and creative arts through its annual four-day music festival and year-round activities that support the regional artistic and musical talent in Northern Ontario.

Like PSB, the NLFB is also marking their 50th anniversary this year. In support of Canada’s creative arts industries, PSB is a proud sponsor of the 2022 Northern Lights Festival Boréal and thrilled celebrate alongside them half a century of making an impact on Canadian sound.
