Iam not an audiophile. I have a Sonos one speaker and wanted more power and clarity.
After reading reviews on the AM5...I felt that my needs would be covered.
The sound quality or maybe the processing aspect of the AM5 have left me unimpressed compared to the tiny Sonos One.

I purchased a set of the AM5 for my mother-in-law. Ultimately, the operation of the remote was not intuitive for her and I care about sound quality, she doesn't. If sound quality is not what you are interested in, save some money and purchase something else. If you want excellent sound reproduction at minimal cost, then you need to seriously consider these speakers. I took the speakers and placed them in my family room. I use my Oppo 103 to process the HT signal and send a stereo signal via optical to the speakers. My sub is hooked up so I have all the base needed for TV/Movies. Music or TV, the sound is great. I also work from home occasionally and usually end up in the family room. During those days, I stream music from my phone to the speakers; again the sound is great. I haven't tried the phono and probably won't but I have no doubt that it would sound great too. My family room is roughly 17'x 24', carpeted with cloth window coverings and furniture. The speakers are fine for the room. I listen to mostly classical and jazz and these speakers fill the room with lovely sound that isn't distorted. The only down side is that I'm not sure how long I'll have these speakers. My son heads off to college soon and I suspect these speakers will end up in his dorm room.
I have been a happy customer of PSB's for years. Every speaker of theirs that I've owned has been excellent. These are no exception. I highly and sincerely recommend the AM5.
