I started years back with the M4U-2. Then got the original M4U-8 six years ago. Those finally gave out (broken headband) and I went for the 9's. As good as the 8s were, the 9s are clearly better still. Especially if you go through the process of calibration, the difference is substantial. One thing I really like is how now, as an Apple user, I am no longer wanting to use an external DAC/amp in order to listen to lossless music, the sound of 256 AAC over Bluetooth is so good that I'm very happy to stay wireless.
